Boin GmbH Ships Multiple Network Software Licenses to LSI Logic Corporation
Tomerdingen (Germany) - For immediate release -
March 30, 2000
Boin GmbH, a software manufacturer for the semiconductor industry, announces the shipment of multiple network licenses of its metrology software WAFERMAP to LSI Logic Corporation, a leading supplier of communications chips for broadband, data networking, wireless and set-top box applications.
WAFERMAP, which runs under Windows 95 and NT4.0, is used for off-line metrology data analysis and visualization. It allows for importing of data files from metrology equipment such as ellipsometers and four point probes as well as many other metrology tools used throughout the semiconductor industry. Data can be visualized and printed as 1D, 2D (contour) or 3D plots or as histograms. WAFERMAP also allows the user to compare different sets of data by adding, subtracting or dividing complete wafer maps. A subtraction of the wafer maps taken before and after a wafer processing operation can provide valuable insight into the processing results. Maps can also be exported to other file formats for use with other applications.
The network licenses enables LSI Logic Corporation to use WAFERMAP on all PCs in the fab which are connected to the network. This is the most economic and user friendly approach in a company with many temporary users of WAFERMAP.
The software is directly marketed and sold in Germany, France, Switzerland, UK and other European countries by the J P Kummer group. In Japan the product is distributed by Sumisho Electronics Co., Ltd., NetScience Division. In Korea the exclusive distributor is Sewoo, Inc. The exclusive distributor in United States and Canada is Hologenix, Inc. since April 1999.
